Tourist apartments in Spain increased by 9.2% in the last year, with 340,424 homes

Tourist housing in Spain increased by 9.2% in the last year, with a total of 340,424 apartments, according to data up to October published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
All of these tourist apartments represent 1.3% of the total number of homes in the national territory, while a year ago they accounted for 1.24%. These figures are already higher than the 1.28% that occurred in 2020, with 321,496 apartments for tourist use, which is the latest data available.
By autonomous community, Andalusia leads the number of tourist apartments, with 79,065, followed by the Valencian Community and Catalonia, with 58,337 and 52,026 apartments, respectively. They are followed by the Canary Islands (44,376), the Balearic Islands (26,507), Madrid (16,970) and Galicia (18,080).
